Intending a Great New Year!

What are your intentions
What are your intentions for 2008?
Many times when we write down our goals for the coming year most of things manifest. I have done this for years and when I have gone back and looked at my list, most of the things manifested.
When making intentions, which I do not just do at New Years I simply put the goal I want to arrive at down.
Imagine your goal as already being accomplished
Put emotion and energy into it
Act on your inspirations
When you put energy into it, visualize your goals with emotion and then act on the inspirations that follow your intentions will manifest. If they do not, the timing could be wrong or the universe has other plans for you. Always remember that an intention should be done with the mindset of thy will be done. God or the universe knows what is best for us and sometimes its plans are better than mine. I always try to keep that in mind.
For instance in my last marriage I intended for it to work out. I wanted to keep it going, stick with it. Things did not seem to follow this intention, so I prayed for God to show me what to do. In that instance life showed me what to do and I knew I had to leave. At the time I did not know that a much better love was to come into my life and one that would make me much happier and bring me many blessings. I had to follow where I felt I was being led and TRUST. That is something I see alot of people not realizing when it come to intentions- that if your intention did not manifest trust that something better is coming for you. If you are being inspired along the way you should be flowing with life. If you are not happy, you may be on the wrong track.
For the new year ahead what do you want to manifest?
Make it a great year! (why not? You deserve it) Tell yourself you are going to have a great year and then have one!
Write down your intentions and goals.
Act on your inspirations...
And enjoy the journey along the way.
As Deepak Chopra says: when we are following our bliss it will be easy.
I know when I am following my bliss it is fun, it does not feel like work. I feel passionate about what I am doing. I love it. When you are on the right track that is how it should feel.
FOLLOW YOUR BLISS!
What brings you bliss?
What inspires you?
Ask yourself these questions as you set goals for the year, and most of all
ENJOY YOURSELF!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
MAKE IT YOUR BEST ONE!

Be The Change You Wish To See

"There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle; you can live as if everything is a miracle.

This is statement is true. Attitude is everything. It is the catalyst for change. I have seen this in my own life. When I shifted how I reacted to people, when I changed me, my life changed. At times it requires inner work that is causing the way we react to the world around us. I figured this out in my twenties when I realized that everywhere I went, the issues of my life repeated themselves until the last few years.
What changed for me?
I did alot of work on forgiveness. I meditate quite a bit and am very intuitive. I also prayed. I have found God to be a best friend to me in so many times- good and bad. As I worked on issues of forgiving others who I felt wronged me I had quite an epiphany after asking for God to help me to forgive. I was shown a vision(I get visions often) where I saw the people I needed to forgive and was shown them with the filter of mirrors being removed. I could see them clearly which brought me to the realization there was nothing to forgive. God let me see that they were doing the best they could as I have done my entire life and I realized in that scenario what is there to forgive. I was also shown why they made the choice they did that hurt me and I felt compassion in my heart towards this other person freeing me from feeling a need to forgive them. This all came about with rigerous and tenacious work on forgiving. For some reason I was having a difficult time releasing the anger I felt at that time.
Once I did this, my life began to shift. I began to react differently to people around me. I stopped enaging in drama slowly until eventually I felt quite detached from what used to cause me grief. I began to feel gratitude. Many blessings came to me as a result. I then discovered "the secret" to having a happier life. I realized that it was based on my attitude. I have known this since I was a teenager but somehow it never helped me to manifest less drama until I did the inner work that created the outer changes in my life.
If we wish change in our world around us, we have to be the change. If we want peace, we must be peace.

A great prayer I love that applies to this is:

The St. Francis of Assisi prayer

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

where there is injury, pardon;

where there is doubt, faith;

where there is despair, hope;

where there is darkness, light;

and where there is sadness, joy.

O, Divine Master,

grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;

to be understood as to understand;

to be loved as to love;

for it is in giving that we receive;

it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;

and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

CD I recommend: Grace and Gratitude by Olivia Newton John

She sings this prayer beautiflully on that CD
I have it and listen to it often on my ipod.

Be the change in your world!

You will be glad you did as your life shifts.

Wings

Wings

Light
And its depth
Of endless treasures

Life
Blossoming
With its many layers
Of wings
That call to me

Take flight...
Take flight...

Jewels of Awe

Title poem from my book of poetry

Jewels of Awe

My book is available at Amazon.com

What is in your treasure chest?

The Starfish Story

One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?”

The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.”

“Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!”

After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said…” I made a difference for that one.”

Story by: Loren EisleyOne

What is in your treasure chest?

Along the way in life we all pick up little treasures, moments that delight us, make our heart sing, make us smile, surprise us, inspire us.

What are the treasures you have picked up along the way in your life? Life goes by so quickly as we go about our day.

Take the time to treasure the jewels that come along in your life.

Food for the soul

We all need food for our soul, something that speaks to us, sustains us, pulls us through, inspires us, comforts us. There are many things that can be. It is different for everyone. What feeds your soul? Make a list and let it inspire you to do things that feed your soul everyday.

Here is a delicious homemade whole wheat bread recipe my husband and I make. Cooking or baking can feed your soul. Put love into your food when you are preparing and cooking your food and it can actually feed your sensuality. Sensuality is not just sexual.

ENJOY SOME HOMEMADE FOOD FOR THE SOUL

100% Whole Grain Wheat Bread

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 36 minutes

Ready In: 3 hours

Yields: 2 Loaves
If you like fluffy brown bread this it. No white flour here. You can use any 100% whole grain wheat flour. I mill my own. This bread is not heavy like most 100% whole wheat breads. If it is you used too much flour and your dough was too stiff. If it flattens out and won’t stand up you need more flour. The total amount of flour is usually about 6 1/2 cups. This recipe has been in my family for years and we all make it. We make a lot more now that we have powerful mixers and the hand kneeding is bye bye.

INGREDIENTS:

2 1/2 Cups of hot water1/4 Cup of Oil, Olive is fine1/4 Cup of honey2 Tbs Molasses1 Tbs Salt, Sea Salt is good6 1/2 cups of 100% Whole Grain Wheat Flour2 1/2 Tbs of Dry Active

YeastDIRECTIONS:

1. Place the first five ingredients in the bowl and mix.
2. Add: 2 Cups 100% Whole Grain Wheat Flour. Mix then add 2 Tbs of Dry Active Yeast. If your not sure about your yeast proof it in a little warm water first.
3. Add: 4 Cups of 100% Whole Grain Wheat Flour.
4. Mix until the consistency is some what even. Then continue to slowly add flour 1/4 Cup at a time until the dough quits sticking to the sides of the bowl. It should be tacky to the touch. The trick is to have enough consistency to stand up with the least amount of flour so the bread will be fluffy. In any case do not exceed 7 1/2 cups of wheat flour. You can trade one cup of wheat flour for one cup of all purpose white if you wish. Don’t over mix or the bread will be tough.
5. When your dough is finished, Cover the bowl and let it rise for about 30-45 minutes. The dough will be larger but it doesn’t need to double when using a heavy mixer.
6. Grease two bread pans with Crisco. You can also flour the pans to reduce sticking.
7. Mix again just enough to knock it down at least close to the original size.
8. Drop the dough on a floured surface so you can work the dough and shape it. Roll it in theflour and shape it in your hands to make a nice ball getting enough flour on it so it isn’t sticky. Divide the ball in half and do it again. Shape the loaves by turning the dough under it’s self over and over. When the dough is shaped right the sides and ends will be sealed and all you will see is a nice oblong shaped loaf with smooth sides and top. Drop the loaves in your bread pans and let them rise until almost doubled. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 for 36 minutes. If you forgot to preheat 41 minutes. (gas oven)
9. When done turn the bread out of the pan to a rack to cool. You can eat it right away (a great time for real butter) don’t wrap it until completely cooled. (Condensation will make it soggy) Put in tinfoil to store on the counter. If you put it in the refrigerator it will turn into a brick. Enjoy.
